SKILLED CARE
Memory Loss Care
The Care and Rehabilitation Center provides an environment where caregivers pride themselves on the heart-felt attention they give to each resident with memory loss. Our caregivers and therapists are
experienced in helping older adults with all stages of cognitive impairment: from mild confusion to total loss of memory.
Special activities designed to trigger memories of past enjoyments are planned to encourage residents to participate. Caregivers will often join in the Rhythm and Music class led by a Recreation Therapist. A social worker works closely with the residents and families to help them through the difficulties of change that occur with memory loss.
Memory Loss Care includes the development and coordination of ongoing, specialized training programs by our campus-wide aging specialist. Caregivers are mentored, and participate in seminars and in-services. Our focus is on the continual education of our staff. We believe it is vital to keep those who are providing the care on the forefront of the latest knowledge regarding cognitive impairment care for the elderly.
This innovative initiative better helps each resident achieve and maintain the highest quality of life possible.
